Stay tuned for the result. The Flores family welcomes any and all to attend including members of the press. This hearing could have been avoided! The disctrict has spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars fighting families, when all they are looking for are the appropriate services their children need to succeed. It is time this comes to an end. The Flores family asks that you wear white shirts in support of Mareena Flores should you decide to attend. Result: Pending
City Hall Board of Education Meeting

On this day, within a 24 hour notice, over 60 supporters and members of the community united together to display their disagreemant with the disctrict's approach and lack of concern to resolving the Mareena Flores matter. Wearing white t-shirts that state "HELP MAREENA" the coumminty one by one voiced their concerns. The board indicated they could not comment on the issues at hand since they were not specified on their agenda. The supporters expressed thier opions nonetheless. Result: The disctrist and their legal counsel stand their ground. No resolution.

Mareena's parents met with the Los Alamitos Unifed School District to discuss possible resoultions. The school district's attorneys dug in thier heels and informed Mareena's parents that "they should be grateful for their current status". They explained they are doing all they can. Mareena's parents reiterated Mareena's test results (including the district's own assessment's) indicated "drastic intervention" is required in certain areas. Our team of experts, both non-medical and medical, have recommended certain services to help Mareena continue to progress. The School Disctrict denies such services. Their offer came back with minimal change. Result: After Mareena's parents spent 7 hours of negotiaions in a tiny room without air conditioning and minimal water, a mutual agreement is not reached. The disctrict confirms its desire to go to hearing.
